Today we are going to jump right in and start the week

STRONG!

Tomorrow I’ll share some more performance techniques,

but for today, we are going to kick in some serious

show-booking techniques.

The last week was wonderful.  Lot’s of time for reflection,

family and friends.  Now we enter our busy season and

capitalizing on it is KEY!

The secret to making 2008 the best year ever is to build on

the success of 2007…

Seven Tips for Keeping the Momentum Going:

1)  Communication – Let everyone know what you are doing

this season.

That means publishing a newsletter for your past clients or

mailing postcards telling them where you’ll be appearing.

People love success stories and they want to see you do well. 

Tell them about your victories.

2)  Tell the press about you.  Whatever public shows you

have this season, let the press know about them.  Get those

press releases out NOW!

If you are only doing private events, that’s OK too.  Let the

news media know what you’re up to.

3)  Collect testimonials!  Make it a game and collect as many

written, audio & visual testimonials as you can this season. 

Just think how much better your marketing campaigns will

be with all of these new references sprinkled throughout!

4)  Videotape – Take a camera to every show this season and

tape your act from different angles.  It will not only help your

performance by reviewing them, but you’ll have a ton of footage

to use in promos by the end of the year.

5)  Create an attack plan for the beginning of the year NOW!

If you haven’t done so already, figure out how where you’ll be

working in the slower months of January & February.

This happens every year to most magicians.  They have a

great Holiday season and then starve come the beginning of

the year.  You MUST get creative and book shows now for

the coming months.

In fact, drop everything and do this NOW!

6)  Invest in yourself – make a plan to re-invest some of your

income right back into your personal and business development. 

What market is it that you want to concentrate on this new

year?  What is the one skill-set you need that will double

your income this coming year?  (remember, we talked about

this a few weeks ago and it is brilliant!  You must continue to

learn to be a viable “player” in the marketplace.)

7)  Block out one WHOLE day between Christmas & New

Year’s to work on nothing but your 2008 plan of attack.

We will be covering this in greater detail over the next few

weeks, but this is critical! 

Rent a cabin or hotel somewhere where you can be completely

free of all distractions.  This could be the most important day

of your life! 

These tips will get you started towards the snowball effect we

all desire.  Each event this season should build towards your

ultimate goal.

Make a conscious effort.  Don’t be like every other performer

out there that goes dead come January.  Don’t sit around in

January and wonder what happened and why you can’t

seem to make it as a professional magician.

I hear it every year and I once said it to myself.
